Why do we have generation after generation still living on tax payers money. If those who feel like we should keep a welfare, medicade, and food stamp program. Let them take it out of their taxes and leave my money alone. If you can't get off the couch and take care of your kids, why do you expect me or anyone else to do it for you.

  1. Because they are enabled. Lovers of big government want an army of dependents who will blindly vote for them just to be able to fleece the tax payers. Thy is there such a huge problem of teenage pregnancy? Its not because 'abstainance only s*x education' as liberals want to propagate. Its because all a teenage girl has to do is get knocked up and she will have it made for life. Government is SPONSORING teenage pregnancies. As long as we have politicians who hand out my and your hard earned money to the welfare parasites, we will have an army of welfare parasites to feed.

  2. Gosh, I would sure feel bad for you if you had to have these services one day!! Geez, aren't you just the poster child for sympathy! Some people abuse the system...that doesn't mean others don't just use it for a helping hand when necessary.

  3. News flash, welfare is only less than 1% of your taxes.

Plus requires 32 hours a week of either work, school, or other approved activity, so no one on welfare is just sitting on the couch.

And also, most of the money collected by welfare recipients is being paid by the fathers of these mother's children.

And who says they aren't taking care of their children.

Before you make an argument, please know what you are talking about.

  4. I don't think that children should be punished for being born into a bad family.  Sure take it out on the lazy adults all you want, but the bottom line is some kids are not born into very good situations.

If a child is ill and has a lazy parent, that child should have a right to have health care.  It's not the kids fault that their parents are lame, it's not your or my fault that those parents are lame.  But I want to help take care of kids with lazy parents, so those kids can grow to be productive members of society and not just more leeches like their parents.

I know a devout Republican who thought social security, food stamps, all of that was a waste of taxpayers money.  But when he lost his job, guess where he went?  To the government for help, and was given taxpayer money so HE could take care of his family.  It does happen so be careful what you wish for.

If you were hit hard in bad economic times, should your children have to suffer for it?

  5. Some people have a job and are still on welfare.

  6. There are people who abuse the welfare, WIC and food stamp program.  I guess that's inherent in any kind of assistance program.  People are always trying to beat the system.  But, you also have to remember that many of the people who get food stamps and medicaid are elderly or children who can't provide for themselves.  If we cut off welfare for the parent, the child will suffer.  The elderly may be physically unable to work.  It's not fair to punish the weakest in our society because of the actions of the thieves who get welfare just because they don't want to work.  Hopefully, the new president will be able to address some of these issues during his term in office.  I don't know if there will ever be a way to weed out the cheaters completely but it could certainly be improved.  A huge step in the right direction will be when this country implements universal health care coverage for all Americans.  It is shameful that the wealthiest and most powerful country in the world doesn't already provide that.

  7. Welfare is like menudo, the more you chew it, the bigger it gets.  It is a self perpetuating system.  Welfare makes people become more and more dependent on welfare.  It keeps people poor, but poor people keep voting for democrats, who keep giving them welfare, which keeps them poor.  So the answer is get a job, be self sufficient, don't depend on the government.

  8. While I agree it's better to have a job, some people have extenuating circumstances that put them in a really bad situation.

It may seem impossible for you now, but you never know when you or a loved one of yours may just need these services!

  9. Great idea there kid. I hope your plan is put into effect and a week later you find yourself unemployed and unable to take care of yourself and your family without any medical insurance after your back surgery, or your child's fall while chasing one of the neighbors children, when he gets out of the hospital.  What goes around sometimes comes around.

I know people that, that has happened to, and it ain't a very pretty sight to see.  Trust me on that one.

  10. So you should be taxed based on your political opinions?

    Smart.

  11. Just hope and pray, in this economy, you don't need these services one day. Then your words just might bite you in the rear.

  12. then i don't have to pay for the war. we should all have so many tax dollars we wish to spend and donate this to whichever branch of govt we choose. Like free market govt, they just get the money we want to give them. This is a real idea and it's already possible for us to do. You can make tax right offs on all valid donations.

So, say you owe 6,000 in taxes you make a 6,000 donation to the armed forces or some veterans group. Legitimate get a reciept, write off all your taxes. You may need to pay some things to the state like a percentage so check with a tax agent how much donations can be a write off. I think all of them. So, it is entirely possible for you to pay your taxes to whom ever you wish, be it save the dolphins or build a border fence.

An interesting consequence is when you see people making big donations like microsoft and McCain, they have to pay taxes anyway and they know this, so the more money they donate to this charity or that is really a sign of how much taxes they owe. Sp ga ahead and donate your taxes where you choose.

I would sugesst anyone looking for a tax write off danate thier money to national public radio, the truth must be told.

  13. The report just came out and there is a 5.5% unemployment rate...

Exactly where are the jobs that you seem to think those people sitting on the couch should be?

I proudly pay my taxes, that is the TRUE price of freedom, freedom of worry about those who are less fortunate than I not being able to feed their children, pay their rent,or get medical attention.

If you want to have less of your taxes going to pay for these services, elect leadership that will ensure that the jobless rate goes down.  The current one failed...
