  1. i thought we would acquire at least one more player but im not that surprised that we didnt get another player cause wenger knows what he is doing

our squad is almost perfect and as we have seen in the match with newcastle our team is in no need of improvement and as long as we are consistent and have no absences (note that we already have:that of eduardo and rosiscy and silvestre and we can still manage without them) we will be absolutely fine

in my opinion we dont need any new players

a week ago we were saying that a midfielder would be much needed but after fabregas has returned last week,we have no gaps

our current squad has a lot of potential as we saw in the match with newcastle and it will strengthen even more once eduardo and rosiscy are back

so no,im not disappointed with wenger at all.he didnt spend that money cause there wasnt a need to.if he felt our squad had some discrebances im sure he would have bought another player

  2. I think it also has something to do with the wage structure at Arsenal compared to the other clubs in the top 4.  if we were to being in a decent experienced player for £30 million on £100K+ a week it would cause problems in the dressing room.

  3. Wenger wants to save all his money to pay up for the construction of the Emirates Stadium.

  4. Cos Wenger is an economist and stubborn. Also he doesn't like to buy matured proven talent, it's just his way.

Another reason is he may believe he has enough with players like Eduardo and Rosicky coming back from injury.

My own personal opinion is that I agree with you and think he should have bought in a proven defensive midfielder. He bought in Silvestre at least, that was quite unwengerlike.

  5. well, i am not an arsenal fan, but i think he is very stubborn, and he believes that his team is very good and he needs no one else.

he might have an eye set on someone but as the player(s) was not available, he said there wasn't good players.

i think the player he wants couldn't be bought by 30 million. and he doesn't want anyone older than 25

so i think the guy need to change his taste.

i think man city is gonna give u guys a scare. so better watch out

  6. Well, his philosophy is, if I can get a raw Gem at a cheap price and polish it to become a rare Gem, why do I need to spend more?

Yes. He is quite good at doing that. But he is so stubborn that he fails to see some problems with this philosophy:

    1) He need to spend more to keep his raw-turned-rare Gems.  How many times we see those youngsters, after gaining enough experience and made a name of themselves left for other clubs as Arsenal is not willing to match their demand.

    2) It is very difficult to find 1 perfect teams of raw-turned-rare Gems, and you need 2 perfect teams to ride you through the seasons of 4 competitions. "Not enough depth", haven't we heard enough?

More money need to be spent, either to keep the talents, buy talents, or developed more talents to form 2 perfect teams.

Else, Arsenal will just be an entertaining team that just help to spot and train talents to serve other clubs when they are more experienced.

  7. I'm not an Arsenal fan but I can admit they've got some incredibly talented youngsters. However, everyone can see that they also need a couple more experienced players in the team to help the youngsters, especially through the difficult games/times of the season when things start to go against you.

I mean, he sells a player as soon as he reaches 30! Look at how much Scholes and Giggs have contributed to Utd's success since they've been in their 30s!
