    Vyssinatha: Sour Cherry Cordial( by a Greek Nancy Gaifyllia,

    Your Guide to Greek Food.

    In Greek: βυσσινάδα, pronounced vee-see-NAH-thah

    The word "cordial" in many places outside the U.S. means a non-alcoholic refreshing drink, and vyssinatha is certainly that. This is a real treat during hot weather.

    INGREDIENTS:

        * 1 teaspoon of sour cherry syrup (see below)

        * 5 ounces of ice water

        * ice cubes

    PREPARATION:

    Add the syrup to the water and stir. Add ice and enjoy!

    Note: The syrup from sour cherry preserves can be used, or use the syrup from Sour Cherry Spoon Sweet.
