Please answer this if you know about video cameras and video editing?

I'm making a soccer recrutment video.i have a video cam that records using those little cassets my plan is to tranfer my recordings onto a cd then edit and add some effects using some program then post it on youtube. So is this possible?This is my first time, so will it be difficult? Can i get them transfered at like a walmart store? any advice?

Hello, the best possible way to do this is to first plan out how you  are going to shoot the video. Once you are finished shooting the video go over to your computer and instead of making a dvd out of the footage make a file of the video you just made on your computer. This is done by just plugging the camera into your computer via firewire, you can then use Sony Vegas to capture and edit the video by going to File>Capture Video>and then rewind the tape, once you are on the part of the tape you want to capture hit the record button the start the capture. Once this is done you can edit out the video in Sony Vegas then render it onto your computer by going to File>Render> and then naming the file to what you would like and giving it a format (I suggest AVI). Once this is completed you are done, you can THEN burn the video onto DVD. This may sound confusing but it pretty simple. I would also like to say you can find a trial of Sony Vegas at:
