  1. That is something you'll have to take up with your instructors about. Sometimes it's not an issue but if they require a haircut than it is for a reason. It is not to harass you or try to make fun of you. It is to make you stand out as someone who shows that they have a desire to be a leader. That you can make a choice to abide by rules and regulations. I went all thought Jr High (that's what we called it back in the stone age) and High School with short hair, joined the Army, served for three years, got decorated for my service, got out and haven't shaved or had but three haircuts since (and that was 1977).

If you enroll in a class or join a military branch or go to college, you must follow their rules. And when you get to a point in life where you can do what you want and in what ever colored socks you want to do it in, then go for it, but until then there are going to be rules. h**l, I still have to follow rules, at least that's my wife tells me and she is the boss.

  2. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking but if you are asking if there is a way to keep long hair in JROTC that depends on your school.  If you were going to the college level ROTC it would have to come off.  If this is not what you are asking you need to add additional details being more specific.

Ask your school what their policy is and if there are any medical exemptions if they say you have to cut it.  If you have to cut it no matter what and you want to keep your hair you might as well transfer to another class.
