unsecure? Does it mean in the applications or something?

Unsecured means that there is no data encryption.  For example if someone types in their credit card number and clicks send on a secure site a hacker can actually see the data string and get the credit card number. This is a bad thing.  Unsecured is fine for certain things but not when personal information is involved.
