Please can anyone tell me if imulsion paints goes off, and still smells strange when walls have been painted?

Usually imulsion (latex in U.S. ) wall paint looses its smell really quickly.  If I were you, I'd go to the website of the brand you used and call the 1-800 number. I have found the technical depts of paint companies to be really helpful. You may have to lower the level of moisture in the air by turning on an air conditioner if you have one or even running the heat to dry out the house a bit . You could do the heat while you were away for several hours (assuming it is summer where you are as it is where I am :o)
