  1. 路易丝= lu4-yi4-si1

    altogether it means "a transcription of a foreign female name"

    characters mean:

    è·¯ = lu4 = road

    易 = yi4 = easy

    丝 = si1 = silk

  2. 路易斯 means nothing only a name just like Louise in english

  3. As Juan Carlos in particular says, while the characters will each have a meaning, they are chosen because of their pronunciation in Mandarin, not to convey a meaning.  The three that JC chose 路易斯 are read Lu Yi Si in Mandarin.

    è·¯lu4 a road

    易yi4 easy; amiable

    斯si1 this

    If someone pronounces the characters in Cantonese or another Chinese dialect, they will say it differently.

    Maybe not a really good idea.

    Good luck.

  4. Pinyin just means the way it is said. lol

  5. nope soz there fibbbing. louise in chinese symp is 路易丝, and louise in chinese traditional is 繁體中文版 what they wanna write doesnt mean anything soz

  6. Don't use this: 路易斯. It is usually used to translate Louis. Use this instead: 露易丝. It is more feminine. They are pronouced the same way.

    Personally, I would prefer 露艺丝 or 露伊丝.

    露 (lu4): dew/expose (when used in a name, it is understood that it means 'dew')

    易 (yi4): easy/change (in your case, it wouldn't really matter because you would choose it for it's pronunciation)

    艺 (yi4): art

    伊 (yi1): beautiful (used to describe a girl)

    丝 (si1): silk

  7. means nothing.
