I'm going on holiday on 27th flying from Manchester to Kos. I am flying with Thomas cook and hear that their staff are not involved in the strike. However, I was wondering, to what extent, if any will this effect my flight? I hope someone can help me, I have being looking forward to my holiday so much and now this has put a dark cloud over it. I do completely understand their reasons for striking it's just i've worked hard all year to afford this holiday! Thank you.

  1. My daughter is also travelling on the 27th from Manchester to Cyprus so she is anxious as well.  I'd say you will get there but probably will be delayed.  You should ring up on the day early to check flight times, you don't want to be hanging around the airport for hours..  Lets hope they call it off.   Have fun when you finally get there  x

  2. If the strike goes off, it is likely there will be SUBSTANTIAL delays, as it is the baggage handles and cabin service that will be striking.  While Thomas Cook is not involved directly, their flights may be affected if they cannot leave the gate because the luggage is not there yet.  Pack a change of clothes in your carryon.

Arrive early, plan accordingly.  And assuming you booked before the strike call, worst case scenario, your travel insurance should cover the sunk costs.

  3. The strike has now been called off pending further pay negotiations
