I look through many "Who will win the AL Central?" questions and I see alot of people change their answers when a Team takes the lead by only half a game or a game...Please don't choose who is in first that day. just go with who you really feel will win.

Does anyone else notice the day to day changes in answers?..Sometimes it's not just answers to AL Central questions but to many other divisions in races

  1. The Twins will win the Central.  With Liriano back and Joe Nathan closing games, they should have enough to win.  They are a scrappy hitting team that can produce more runs than the White Sox who can only score by hitting home runs (usually solo shots).

  2. White Sox

  3. your chicago white sox will win the AL Central.  final answer.

  4. The ChiSox will win the division.

The Twins have great starting pitching, but they don't have enough offense for the stretch run.

  5. My preseason money in Vegas has the Tigers but, I have since changed my mind to White Sox. that's who i "want" to win it but w/ all the moves Detroit made in the offseason it was hard not to place my money there.

I'm a Cubs fan 1st & a Sox fan 2nd. they are my AL team

  6. Cleveland to the first Q

    No to the second

  7. White Sox will win it. Look at the stats:

White Sox have scored 611 runs so far this season

    Twins have scored 559

White Sox have 174 homeruns all season, leading the major leagues

    Twins have ONLY 86!!!

White Sox have a team ERA of 3.89

Twins have a team ERA of 4.25

Carlos Quentin leads his team (and league) in HR's with 33

Justin Morneau leads his team with 18

  8. The AL Central is a tough race to handicap because you have one team that is loaded with veterans (Chicago), and one team with far less experience(Minnesota). Given the fact that younger players tend to fade down the stretch, especially young starting pitching, I would say the obvious answer is the White Sox.

But the way Minnesota handles their young players is pretty unique, and Gardenhire tends to get the most out of them when it matters. Delmon Young is finally finding his swing. Liriano is almost back to his dominant form. Nathan is the best closer in baseball. And of course they have Morneau and Mauer leading the way. If Slowey, Baker, and Perkins can keep them in games, they will be hard to beat.

The White Sox, on the other hand, have seen their bullpen go from the best ever to highly suspect in a matter of months. Starting pitching is also a concern, as Danks is their only proven starter over the last two months. Griffey was a good addition because it gives them a little more depth so that they can rest guys like Konerko, Thome, and Swisher down the stretch. Their bats have woken up lately and they will need to because it seems like their always playing from behind.

All that being said, I gotta go with the Twins. Dominant starter, dominant closer, great defense, and their bats are just as hot as the White Sox. I'm sure it will come down to the last week of the season though, and it will be a very exciting race.

  9. I have been saying it all season.  The Twins will win the Central

  10. Throughout the season i was saying the indians, since they are my team and i love them to death. but now i know they wont win. i am saying white sox, not because i love them more, i just think the might win. i dont really care who wins at all. I dont mind if it is the twins. they are both good teams and they both deserve to win.

  11. the white sox will win the al central have been saying it for the whole year heck we were not even suppose to be in first after what espn and everybody else predicted. If the bullpen continues to fail then it would be the twins taking it all. But White Sox is my final Answer.

  12. Don't forget that injuries and a team current momentum can factor in on what they do for the rest of the season.  I could say that the White Sox will take the division but a key player like Carlos Quentin could get hurt sliding into 2nd base and be out for the season.  Also what is the status of Bobby Jenks?? If he returns will he be effective since he is a HUGE part of them closing out games?  In terms of momentum, the Twins could go into a 3 game series with the White Sox and sweep them winning big every game. That kind of beatdown can have huge mental affects on the losing team.  As a fan though, you can look and guess that the Sox may not have the mental toughness to handle adversity. Sure any team in baseball can get hot vs the bad teams but how to you handle the heat against the best?? How do you handle injuries to key guys on your team??  Guys that really know the game look at issues like this before making any prediction on that team.  Stating all of this, I feel that the Twins stating pitchers overall now with the addition of Liriano will be alot more consistent down the stretch with the White Sox starters will be.  The Sox are dying without Jenks to close games. They will have a hard time winning close games down the stretch.  The White Sox offense is only great at the cell when it is warm outside.  The cell becomes a LIVE ballpark and the balls fly out but on the road or in cooler weather, the Sox are average at best.  They aren't the small ball team that won a WS in 2005.  Their offense is a softball team more or less.  Alexei Ramirez has been a great addition to your offense all season and one of the most consistent hitters on the team.  Denard Span has been a HUGE upgrade on the Twins the last 2 months. The rookie has been literally hitting .300 all year and finally the Twins recognized his ability and placed him in the leadoff spot.  The Twins also need a healthy Mauer down the stretch who already has a history of getting hurt.  Also the Sox weakness is the Twins strength.small ball which matters in close games.  Guillen himself admires the way that the Twins always play the game.  They play the right way and are total professionals.  So my pick are the Twins.
