Please compare Istanbul izmir and ankara for me??

I've been to all of them. Istanbul is beautiful and the center of culture, education..etc but it's TOO crowd. I live in Ist but I would prefer living in a quiter place.

Izmir is good for holidays.

Ankara out of these three is the best to live if you're okay with the fact it has no coast to a sea. Being the capital of Turkey, the city is always clean, there are LOTS of foreigners live

Ä°stanbul is the most populated city of Turkey and the most cosmopolitan one. You can do whatever you want there a ot of concert and music stuff, theatre plays, sports activites, a beautiful and very deep history, a never ending night life including different kinds of music and style, people from all over Turkey and the world etc... Difficult to live in but very very beautiful...

Ankara is the capital city of Turkey and it is a little bit more serious not so many different people and the other stuff... Completely "student and government officer's" city as you see a lot of officicals and mant students there..A little more boring ..

Ä°zmir is also a good city and it is by the sea, people are cmfortable there, relaxing city and you can enjoy yourself there I quess... But not as crowded and lively as Ä°stanbul of course...

Additional information: Bursa is the city where I live . It is in the middle of all these 3 cities and an industrialized city. Not as lively as the others but most people who come to visit Turkey also come by Bursa to see some natural and historical beauties...

Big question!

Istanbul is the biggest and most important historically, commercially and probably culturally. Ankara is the political capital. Izmir is "gavur"!

Climatically Izmir has the most comfortable temperatures in winter and summer. It also has easy access to the coastal resorts of the Aegean. It is cheaper than Istanbul. The people are laid back and the girls are considered the most attractive in Turkey!

I chose to live in Izmir when I settled in Turkey 15 years ago and have been pretty content. However, I love visiting Istanbul whenever I can (I wouldn't choose to live and work there though) and admire Ankara in many ways.

I was largely influenced in my choice by the cold winters experienced in both Istanbul and Ankara - I hate cold weather!! Others may make other choices which are perfectly valid. Each to their own!

i havent been to ankara

but Istanbul is better than Izmir

wel actually, Istanbul is rather modern and its got lots of places for tourists to visit.

Izmir's got this space camp, which is awesome, i also has some traditional market places.

i preferd Istanbul

if your lookin for a resort go to Antalya.
