In the Film, Salt of the Earth, it showed a scene when the mine workers were striking for better working conditions and better pay. As the men gathered for a consensus vote to strike, their wives were quick to demand improvements in their homes such as heating water. When the all miners went to confront to their superior and to let them now about the propose strike if their needs weren’t met. The miner’s wives came to show support and overall, to remind their husbands that they are also in need of a better living conditions. The scene depicted the miners’ bosses being semi surrounded by their workers and demanding better working condition and higher wages. As the group of men was asking for their demands, las Mexicanas came on the hillside with signs requesting for a better living conditions (especially heating water).
