Please describe a real situation where you provided customer service, which was beyond that of your normal job description.

This is not one that I did, but something that someone did for me.

   I was shopping at a local mall and had something to eat in a restaurant there.  I inadvertantly left a package at the table where I ate.  A server found it and took it back to the store that I purchased the item.  They were able to look up the purchase on their computer system and find out my name and telephone number.  They gave me a call and I was able to go back and reclaim my purchase.  

  All of these events were surely above and beyond what is described in their job description.
