  1. zwinky has it down.

  2. Stick-to-it-ness.

Like, I have a gopher from h**l living in my front lawn.  We've been locked in mortal combat for nigh on to 15 years now.  Oh, I don't know how long they live, so this may be a fourth or fifth or tenth generation thing.  But I'M still here.

So, in the months when the little rodent SOB is active, I sit in a lawn chair drinking wine all day, enjoying my lawn and tryin' to pop 'im in his furry little head with a paint ball gun.  I wanted to escalate to an Ithaca 12 gauge pump, but my wife won't let me (Don't tell your prospective employer your wife holds sway over you.  It will make you seem weak.).

I don't get a lot done, but by God I stick to it.

Employers like the Union Pacific really like that, you know...

  3. ambition, because more is not enough so do i get the job or what?

    P.S. what is the job?

  4. Greed.

  5. I like Trains?

  6. I'm assuming you're speaking about a railroad job.

They want to know you have experience working around heavy equipment and that you're not afraid of it.  They want to know about any gaps in your employment (they want to know you have to work to make it).  They want to know you have lots of kids and lots of debt, that way you can't afford not to go to work.  Other than that, if you can add 2+2, you're hired.

  7. What's with all the employment questions?

  8. The idea is that YOU answer the questions on the job application.  We can't answer them for you.

If you can't fill out the application, they won't hire you, anyway.

  9. Sammy, If your asking all of these questions about the job, believe me you won't last in this industry. This is like no other job you'll ever have, lost sleep, always gone, missing family events, having very little or no social life at all. It takes a different breed of person to put up with everything that will be thrown at you. Most do not have what it takes. I've see alot of them come and go over the years. I've personally seen two leave in a coffin. Not a pretty sight. Think it over and consider all the pros's and con's. Good Luck!!!!!!

  10. Whats the job?

  11. LOL.. you've no chance of gettin the job, if you cant even complete an application form....

  12. That's for YOU to answer - not us - it's YOU going after the job ! ! !

  13. Personally, I am responsible, dependable and reliable. If I say I'm going to do something I do it. I take pride in my work and my work ethic. Also, I read between the lines and take the bull by the horns. If something needs to be done I do it. I'm naturally a born leader but I am also a team player. I do not need to be acknowledged for every little thing I do. Being self-employed for years really molded me in a positive way.

  14. you can work well as part of a team and can work also as well on your own initiative.

You have also a good experience of Customer service and wish to expand this within this role

  15. I work well on my own with minimal supervision, and also enjoy being part of a team.

  16. For you at least:

I have no initiative and I just copy answers off the internet.
