Please discribe an earthquake you have been through?

it was the one a few months back here in indianapolis.  at first i thought a tornado had hit my home.  then the whole foundation on my home seemed to move forwards then backwards after a few min or so.  it was pretty darn freaky.  my teenager thought someone was running threw the home.  then later on that morning a major aftershock came.  i knew what to expect that time and just sit still and was amazed at all the shacking.

It sounded like a lot of rumbling, then the ground started to shake.  The bookshelf near my desk also started to shake and some papers and books fell off of it.

The shaking felt like it lasted forever, but was probably, maybe, closer to 20-45 seconds.

It was a 6.8 earthquake.

I was in kindergarten and i was mad about having to pick up another kids mess. I was stomping around about this and just as i put my foot down I felt everything shake. Me being little and having no idea what an earthquake was I thought that I had caused everything to shake. The teachers had us all go under the tables. It was scary for all of us especially me because I thought that I had been the cause. I told my mom and learned it wasn't me. It dose make for a good story though!
