Question:

Please don't laugh...?

I just bought some Abeka books from e-bay for my daughter. One book is a test book, but all the answers are in it in blue (not handwritten, but from the company)

Can I print this somehow without the blue showing up or do I use them as a template to write my own test? I tried to copy on my printer - black and white setting, but it was still there in light grey.

  1. Technically, according to copyright issues, you shouldn't be photocopying the pages at all. The test book is probably the answer key to the test book and not the test book itself.

  2. With A Beka, the tests are usually at the end of the chapter; there may be a separate test booklet as well (I know BJU does it that way).

If they're not in the textbook I would say to either get the test packet or use them as a template.  You can tape over the answers, but that's really a pain in the rear (and probably against copyright).

  3. There is a special tape you can buy in (I think in office supply stores) that is especially designed as a temporary cover for these things. My mother used it when we were still homeschooling. I hope you find it and it helps. Take care. God bless.

  4. Tape black paper over the answers then photocopy.

  5. Do the right, moral thing and purchase the student test booklet from Abeka.  You purchased the teacher's answer key.

  6. You are allowed to make reasonable numbers of copies for educational use only.  The removable tape or post its will work fine and you aren't breaking the law.

You can check the item description on ebay and see how it was described, if the seller described it in a way that truly was misleading, perhaps you can ask for a partial refund.

  7. The tests themselves should be in a separate booklet or in the individual booklets themselves.  Perhaps at the end of each chapter.  Maybe the person you bought it from didnt happen to mention that the test sheets werent included, in which case you will have to make your own test sheets.

  8. If the tests are not in the book cover the answers with a dark colored post it note before copying....

       Good Luck....I hope this helps!!!

  9. ask the person you bought it from for a new booklet :]

  10. If it has a section on general knowledge....it may suggest you cover the answer column with a piece of blank white paper
