  1. i think that people believe in God because they honestly cant believe that the world just created itself (and neither do i)

but for me it always makes me feel safe knowing that there is someone "up there" when i die

    hope this helps

  2. Its not an invisible guy, or a man.  People have faith in this "invisible" being because something significant happened in their life.  If you sincerely look, there is evidence all around.

  3. you just have to have faith that theres something better for all man kind .

  4. Insecurity ,plus the fact that they have had    it drilled into them that they must believe in somthing to explain things they cannot yet understand ,it is an invisible friend for grown ups who cannot walk around any more with a teddy bear .

and the story is too crazy to be real any way ,talking snakes ,guys with wings ,old man living in the clouds ,women having iligitimate babies by thought ,magic etc.

the story of the Anunaki creating the human race by cloning and genetic engineering  as slaves to mine gold for them, sounds far more believeble .

and their descendents and agents carying on to control the believers by religion up to this day.

have you not noticed that most of the people who do not believe in Climate change .or who refuse to considder being environmentaly responsible ,are the religious ones ,

    why is that ????

are they brainwashed ???or are they not concerned with Earthly paradises ,but only interested in dying to get to their place in heaven

as far as a God is concerned His track record is miserable ,His  people dont behave ,dont follow his comandments ,are s******g up the planet ,murder, steal and destroy in his name .

peoples breeding is out of control ,way over Natures accepted levels of Equilibrium ,which the plants and the animals abide by .

the climate is out of control

peoples behaviour is out of control

this is mega incompetence  for what is suposed to be a God ,

and somebody mentioned in a question yesterday ,dont worry God is in control

    insanity has no boundries .

Followers of Pagan entities like Gaia behave far more responsible and friendly towards what is the foundation of   our existance and survival as a specie

hope you dont get me wrong .

    many will

  5. Personally, I believe because I have seen and felt His work.  People will argue with me on that belief; however, it's hard to explain faith.  I feel His presence.  If something is bothering me and I "fight" turning it over to Him, it's only when I actually let go of the burden that I'm filled with calmness.  Once it's turned over, things tend to "work out" for the best.  He's done things in my life that can't be explained by anything other than some divine intervention.  If you are curious, I suggest to pick up the bible and read the book of Mark in the New Testament.  Decide for yourself.

  6. It is the same question I asked myself years ago.  Over time, I had enough information to make a decision that I could not 'believe' in any gods.  The universe is greater than some man-made religion.  I think that the world is part of that universe and was made like the rest of it.

I am, btw, now atheist.  That is not to say that I didn't give religion a try.  Raise Luthern, became Catholic and then Christian.  None of it was believable.  I am now in a good place with my being this way.  I am also not worried what others think about the way I think or 'believe'.

  7. Because the universe is too orderly for it to have just happened.

  8. My personal theory is. . . you believe or you don't believe.  You can't be taught "faith".  You either have faith in the "invisible guy", or you don't.  You can learn all the dogma and even believe that the moral guidance provided by whatever religion you select is sound and should be adhered to, but if you don't buy the whole flowing robes concept, your best bet is just to live the life you'd be proud of and hope that if there is someone passing judgement that he/she/it is reasonable on judgement day.

  9. Heh, i thought about that when I was in a confirmation class and started questioning about why are we taught that something always has to come before something else to be made, what was before god? Guess what the answer was? God just was. What kind of answer is that anyway? And why with the idea of evolution that has been poven with hard fact and so on, is a question indeed. But I guess the big answer to this in alot of ways is fear.

Fear permits people to want to find something to believe in. No one wants to think hey when i am dead thats it. The idea that we go to heaven and a perl white gate is there and we meet all the loved ones we lost is so much more easier to take then hey when your dead thats it. I guess another way was this, a good many years ago, the Catholic Church made people fear the idea of death in a bad way. The idea if you didnt follow my religion you would go to h**l and a half man half goat will hit you with a pitchfork all day in a firey inferno called h**l.

Only thing is the Catholic Church was ran with an iron fist back then to, bringing forth the Spannish Inquistion and what not, so people were to believe and pay or be beaten punnished and led to believe damned for all eternity.

Bottom line is Fear and Comfort. The idea that a great being is with us and listens to our prayers and is there for our goods and bads gives people a feeling that there is something to live for. Like i said if people felt that hey life is that and dead, there is nothing else alot of people cant fathom that, and wont.

Your not a bad person for thinking this way. Believe me I am a living proof of that. I was brought up and confirmed christian, and still to this day i question a whole lot. But i have that fear in the back of my head as well. Its inbeaded into us like so many other things in todays society. But the thought that there is some being, but having to say its God always I dont think is a incorrect assumption. I think there is something out there, just to be able to name it so simply is something I can not agree with.
