We have to make a poster to advertise for the school's production of a midsummer night's dream. It's an english assignment. It's got to be appealing so I would really appreciate it if you'd help try and make it more interesting and more professional. Thanks!!!!

Let us retreat 400 years back, to the Elizabethan Age, to the legendary world of Shakespeare! A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a romantic comedy set in ancient Athens is one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies. Fair Hermia is forced to marry the man of her father’s choice (Demetrius). If she refuses, she has the choice of either becoming a nun or to die. Hermia, who is madly in love with Lysander refuses and they flee to the woods. Helena, in love with Demetrius, told him of Hermia’s flee hoping that he would show gratitude towards her. Demetrius immediately made for the woods, Helena then followed. But a supernatural mistake beyond their reach causes them to fall in love with the wrong people, and confusion reigns. With the story made more complicated by the addition of Titania, the fairy queen falling in love with a mortal with the head of ***; a bunch of amateur actors with one dressed as a woman, one dressed as a lion, another dressed as a stone wall etc. Love is a matter of life and death in the city; out in the woods where fairies play and rule, where anything can happen, it gets even crazier. Will everything go right in the end? Watch the play to find out!

"Let us retreat four hundred years back to the Elizabethan age, to the legendary world of Shakespeare. [good start] This is A Midsummer Night's Dream, a romantic comedy set near ancient Athens [not in Athens mainly] and is one of Shakespeare's greatest plays. [don't want to repeat comedy twice in one sentence] Fair Hermia is being forced to marry the man of her father's choice, Demetrius. [she hasn't yet married him, and his name shouldn't be in parens] If she refuses, she has a choice between becoming a nun or dying. [yours is a bit awkward] Hermia, who is madly in love with Lysander, [need a comma] refuses, [another comma] and she and Lysander [have to say who 'they' are] flee to the woods. Helena, in love with Demetrius, tells him of Hermia's flight in hopes that he would show her gratitude. [lots of fixes there] Demetrius immediately leaves for the woods, with Helena following. [keep verbs present tense for this kind of build-up] Yet a supernatural occurence [Puck didn't make mistakes, he just fooled around] beyond their understanding causes them to fall in love with the wrong people and confusion reigns. The story is made more complicated when the queen of the fairies also falls in love mistakenly, and with a mortal who has the head of a donkey, a man from a group of amateur players who have entered the woods to practice. [or was it to rest?] Love is a matter of life and death in the city. Out in the woods, where fairies play and the fairy king rules, anything can happen, and does. Will all go right in the end? Watch the play to find out!" [Keep it brief. Too much info is too much info.]

Suggest you leave out the players costumes, they are such a bit part, really, except for Bottom. You did okay, you just needed a clean-up.
