  1. Introduction is how the story begins: place, characters etc.

The rising action is the story up until the climax

The climax is the most suspenseful part of the story.

The falling action is what happens after the climax.

The resolution is what happens at the end.

  2. Introduction/hook: The beginning of the story. How the characters are introduced to the reader

Rising action: The events/actions that lead up to the main event (the climax) of the story

Climax: Usually the main event in the story. It's when the action/events reach the highest point

Falling action: Same as the rising action, but after the climax

Resolution: Basically how the story ends. If any conflicts are resolved, talk about them

    Hope that helps!

  3. These are parts of a story.

What, at the very beginning, catches your interest and makes you want to read more?

rising action: things are beginning to happen - some problem has likely come up and someone is trying to solve it - say what action is going on.

climax: The high point the story has been building up to.  The mystery was revealed, or whatever...

falling action: what happens after the climax

    resolution: how the story ends

  4. My teacher told us to think of it like a roller coaster

Introduction: Where the characters are introduced and the plot/conflict is hinted at (when the rollercoaster is just getting started) *this is where you list the characters and any hints towards the confict

Rising Action: Events leading to the turning point (think of it like a roller coaster as it builds as you get to the top) *events that happen that lead to the climax of the story

Climax: The turning point of a story this is where the story is flipped around/ something unexpected (this would be the top of the rollercoaster peak before you descend) *this should be where you write about where the story has changed

Falling action: Events leading to the resolution of the original conflict (this would be descending down the rollercoaster)*everything leading to the resolution of the conflict

Resolution: The final outcome (RESOLUTION) of the conflict (this would be at the end of the rollercoaster )*how the conflict is resolved
