how long does it take birth control to kick in once you start taking it to prevent pregnancy.

without the little facts such as... it doesnt fully prevent it... and... you cn still get STD's. i just need to know how long it takes to mainly prevent you from getting pregnant without using a condom. please and thankyou..

remember. sprintec is the birth control i am using.

it takes a month when you go on birth control the doctor usually tells you that

if you started the pill the day you started your period, you can begin having s*x right away. if you started it the first sunday after your period started, you need to wait a week. in any case, it is always best to use a condom anyways because nothing is 100 percent effective. my sister in law got pregnant while on it!
