  1. Get a glass aquarium from the dump.

Use aquarium silicone to stick in some divider walls.

Dont allow your pets to breed if you cannot afford to house them. Take the babies to a pet store at 4 weeks.

  2. eating solids is normal. its showing that the mother is doing a great job.  the cheapest home to buy is a 10 gallon aquarium.  they cost 10 dollars and the gerbils wont be able to chew through them.  but since you have so many gerbils i would get a 20 gallon (20 dollars) or 2 ten gallons.

  3. First:How old are they? If they aren't between 13 and 17 days then it's perfectly normal for them to be like that.

Second: You can buy a KritterKeeper with a hole at the top for a water bottle.

  4. the babys should pry drink the mothers milk and ifs shes not feeding them you can go buy milk and nipples to feed them yourself.

and if you go to walmart they should have a cheap cage

  5. same thing happened to me well first off they are fine they just matured fast ok now first leave one of the female babies with the mom take the dad out and the rest of the babies out put them in a seprate cage you can buy one on ebay or amazon the reason i said to leave the daughter in is because the mom will eat the new babies if she is stressed hope every thing works out

  6. I was left with this problem when a Pet store sold me two "females". Ended up with a litter of 6 pups!

You will HAVE to go out and buy another cage. Gerbil pups will start trying to eat solid food during the weaning period which is about 3 weeks old. This is perfectly normal! They will carry on feeding from their mother until they are at least 5 weeks so they should not be seprated until then.

When they pups reach 5/6 weeks old, split them into males & females. Seeing as the mother is already due with the second litter, leave all her daughters in with her, they will help raise the second lot of pups.

I find the best sort of cages are glass aquariums or plastic Ferplast duna cages.

If you need anymore advice, do not hesitate to give me an email. I'll be happy to help!

  7. Why do you have a male and female gerbil and only one cage to begin with? Get a second cage and be responsible and find homes for the babies. You should not be breeding them.
