  1. I like to:

Put the fitted sheet over the mattress

Put the flat sheet over the fitted sheet spread out to the headboard, tuck the top sheet under the mattress hospital style leaving some at the headboard end of the bed untucked.

Place the comforter over the top sheet - again all the way to the headboard and then fold BACK the comforter WITH the top sheet and neatly square off the drop at the side.

Then I put my pillows up against my headboard and layer them, shams (on the headboard), sleeping pillows in front of the shams and decorative pillows in front of the sleeping pillows.

Everyone likes to do it their own way, but this works for me as it shows the layers of color in my bedding.

  2. take everything off the bed except for the sheet fitted to the mattress... then:

    1. lay the two pillows flat at the top of the bed

    2. take the square/rectangular sheet and tuck it in tothe sides and corners of the mattress

    3. fold the top of the rectangular sheet over the pillows to the point of looking hotel-style

    4. put the comforter over everything (neatly!!!!!)

    5. neatly arrange any extra decoratory pillows over the comforter near the headboard or top of the bed

    .

  3. Step1Put the bottom sheet on the mattress. If it is a fitted sheet, it will have sewn-in corners and you can fit it snugly over the mattress. If it's a flat sheet, follow step 2 to make hospital corners.

Step2 Lay the top sheet on the mattress so there's enough to tuck under the mattress on all four sides. Tuck the sheet snugly under the mattress at the foot of the bed and the head of the bed. Tuck the corners under the mattress on the long sides, making sure that the folds are flat. Tuck in the sides, pulling the sheet taut.

Step3Place the top sheet over the fitted or bottom sheet, and again make hospital corners, but this time only at the foot of the bed.

    Step4Add blankets, repeating step 3.

Step5 Fold the top sheet back over the blankets at the head of the bed, pulling the sheet back about half a foot, and tuck under the side flaps.

Step6 Slip pillowcases over the pillows.

Step7Place the pillows on top of the blanket and sheets at the head of the bed. Lay them flat, or prop them up against the headboard or wall.

Step8 Place the bedspread, quilt or comforter on the bed.

Step9 If you have a bedspread or thin quilt, fold the top of the spread down, lay the pillows on top, then fold the spread back over them, leaving part of the spread tucked under the pillows.

Step10Place any remaining decorator pillows over the bed covering.
