Please give me some answers!! Does my ex still love me?!

I'll try to make a long story short... my ex and I have been broken up over a year. For the past year I've dealt with getting close to him then him pushing me away. For the past several months we have been very close and basically act like we are together, but he doesn't want to make it official. His friends tell me he is scared the relationship will turn into the way it was before even though he knows I have changed. I'm just having a hard time figuring out whether he loves me or not. When I ask him he says he doesn't have strong feelings and doesn't know what love is anymore yet he acts the opposite.

Sweetheart pleeease! An ex is an ex for a reason. Stop doing this to yourself and just move on. You'll find that you're much better off.

Yes, I believe your ex does love you.....as much as he is capable of loving, anyway.  I think you should believe him when he says he "doesn't have strong feelings and doesn't know what love is anymore".....I think that's as close to the truth as you will ever get.  He has obviously been hurt deeply by you and lost trust in you, and that is something only time can heal.  I would say if you really love this guy....which, by the way, you haven't indicated in your post....then you should consider yourself lucky that he has taken you back to this degree.  You are going to have to be patient and earn his trust again.  If you keep pushing him for an "I love you", you could drive him away.

he is either having problems committing due to the past experience or he is taking his own sweet time to commit since you are already acting as a couple physically (there is no motivation for him to verbally admit that you are together).

you should withdraw all rights of a bf from him until he agrees that you are already back together again and he will work as hard as you to try and make it work this time round.

if he cannot commit, tell him that maybe you should keep your options open and go out with other guys.
