I wanted to meet with the chairman of a famous firm. So I e-mailed him whether he would offer me any appointment conveniently or not. In reply the Chairman writes the below message:

"Dear Mr. Omar:

At the moment, I am very busy with our new development for the next season. I would like to reconfirm with you our appointment sometime next week.

Regards,

Shovon"

Please help me how will I thank him & send him reply. Please guide me.

  1. It's not likely that a chairman of a famous company would agree to see anybody out of the blue.

I suspect this is a standard letter he sends out as a courtesy to everybody who writes in to him, and then he leaves it to one of his PA's to sort it out.

I expect it will be a PA who will contact you next week to find out the nature of your requested appointment.

If it's do do with asking about a job, it's not likely that the Chairman will agree to see you. Even if it's a very high level job, it wouldn't be his concern, but the CEO's.

The Chairman normally only deals with high-powered policy issues. For employment, you'd likely get referred to the HR department, and they'd send you an application form, etc.

As an equal courtesy you could send him a letter after the lines that the other respondent suggested. But I doubt that he would even see it.

Even so, I do admire you for aiming to the top. Good luck!
