Please help, I'm in pain!

My left eye is really red, but it's not the whole eye-- just the outer corner. When I look closely I can see that there are two large streaks (blood vessels I"m figuring) that are red and painful. When I put in my contact this morning my eye BURNED and I had to take it out. A little while ago I was finally able to get it in (though not without pain) because I need to be able to see clearly for later today. I don't have glasses. My eye is kind of watering and every couple of minutes I won't be able to keep it open and I'll have to squeeze it shut for a few seconds. Please tell me what's wrong?

  1. It sounds like your eye is scratched and possibly infected.  You really need to go see an eye doctor because it could get much worse.

  2. Firstly whatever you do you shouldn't put contacts in your eye if it is painful.. You could make the possible infection worse.

There is alot of things that could be possibly wrong with your eye.  The best thing to do is go to get it checked out ASAP.

I had Iritis in my eye about a year ago.  symptoms were red eyes, pain and a lot of watering.  Because I left it over a week (didn't feel red eyes warrented a hospital visit) My eyesight got alot worse!

So Get yourself checked out before anything happens to put your mind at ease. Hope it isn't serious! xx
