  1. Put some pepper in it. It'll negate the salty taste.

  2. If it's saucy, you can add a quartered raw potato to it, let it simmer a bit.  The potato will absorb excess salt.  Do not leave it in until it falls apart, but take it out before fully cooked.

If it's a dryer dish, my only solution is to make a 2nd batch w/o any salt, and combine the two.

  3. u can either add more water to it or more okra and don't add anymore stock or any salty things and enjoy

    hope u all the best

  4. Put half a potato in it- it will absorb the sodium, and it will not give the dish a potatoey flavor.

adding other ingredients or spices will only make the flavor stronger.

  5. The potato does not work. It is an old wives tale. The only way to fix it is to add more of the other ingredients .

  6. Raw potato-its NOT an old wives tale- it really works. I've tried it. Also, you'll have to put more liquid in it so it won't stick or burn. The little bit of sugar thing works, too,if it won't ruin the taste of the dish.

  7. Add some crushed peanut in it it will taste much better and less saltier

  8. hmmmmmmmm well there is no way to fix it really unless you try and dig as much as you can out that didnt get mixed up try adding a touch of sugar and i mean a touch of it that should cover most of it up i think but try to hold back on other salty thing that might need to be added later

  9. As a Chef I tell all my cooks to season carefully! you can always add more later but you can't take it out.

  10. Add a sliced potato. Make sure the slices are big enough to retrieve if you don't want them to stay. The potato will absorb the salt.

  11. Thorw in some peeled, cut up potatoes.  Potatoes absorb salt....

  12. put potato

  13. the old potato trick is supposed to work.  however, when i do the same thing, i just had more of something else already in the dish to compensate for too much salt.  I don't know your recipe, so you decide.  It could be the liquid, or some other spice.  good luck

  14. i have heard if you put a peeled non-cooked potato in it it will absorb the salt, finish cooking it with the potato in it..  good luck
