Please help, I think I'm pregnant but my pregnancy hormone level is 7 and I am one week overdue

I am regular as clockwork but this time my period is one week late. I have taken 2 home tests both of which were negative. I've been to the docs and he took a blood test which also proved to be negative as my hormone level was only 7. I have had low abdominal cramping pains at the tops of my legs, a hunger like you can't imagine, dizzy spells, everything I eat tastes wrong and I am tired and thirsty all the time.

  1. hCG levels above 5 are indeed a sign of pregnancy. So your 7 is a pregnancy, but it's simply going to take a while for it to show up on a home test. Most tests won't detect levels under 25 (you might find some expensive ones that are sensitive to 10) but hCG levels double every 48 hours. In other words, 4 days after the blood test, you should get a positive home pregnancy result, if AF hasn't arrived by then. Be sure to read the box for sensitivity. Dollar Tree tests (called 'New Choice') are only $1 each so you could test regularly without breaking the bank!

    The maths:

    7x2 = 14mIU/hCG 48 hours after the blood test.

    14x2 = 28mIU/hCG after 96 hours = 4 days = above 25mIU/hCG = testable :)

  2. well those are accurate sign but if you took a blood an it said that's its neg than that's as accurate as they get and they can detected like a week after ur egg is fertilized so maybe your body is playing tricks sometime when you want to be pregnant or think ur pregnant you can have the signs

  3. As far as I know any number over 5 means you are in fact preggo. I had a preg last cycle with a number of 5 but unfortunately I had a chemical preg and miscarried at around 4wks. A good sight to find out info about ttc is fertilityties.com It is awesome and has a range of qualified docs to answer questions and is an incredible support network for those of us trying to achieve our dream of having children
