The toilet handle broke so we've been using something else to flush the toilet other then that base,

My mom did something with that blackish handle thing to stop the water from flowing, now that I undid it the water wont stop

No it's not leaking on the floor it's like self flushing something like that,

and No i can't get a plumber in here

so how can i fix it my self??!

  1. well u have to go to one of those stores that sell stuff like that and get one of those things, u know what I mean. one with a blackish handle type things

  2. It sounds like a flapper problem

  3. That happens with our toilet all the time.

I'm not quite sure what you meant about the handle thing, but what we usually do is jiggle it until it gets like, harder to move?

If that doesn't work, the chain in the tank may not be connected. Check it out.

  4. Turn off the water theres a value on the back below tank!

  6. If you look beside the toilet there should be a little silver valve.  Turn the handle clockwise or to the right to close it.  That should shut off water to the toilet tank.  Take the lid off the toilet tank.  When you look inside you should see where the handle used to be connected.  The rest of the handle will go to a chain and the chain will go to a rubber flapper.  Since the handle broke probably part of the chain is under the flapper and causing the toilet to continue to run.  With your toilet flushing all the time, I am fairly certain that it is a problem with the flapper valve.  If you find the flapper properly sitting on the hole in the tank that connect to the toilet and water is still running, you need a new handle and a new flapper valve.

If it is not these obvious things, or if you cannot get the water to stop going down the drain, you will need to tell your mother because she will end up having a huge water bill it the toilet is not fixed.  Good Luck
