Please help, cat bath - shivering. ?

I just gave my cat a bath. I have done this before, usually once every two months or when she is just really dirty. She got outside today and had mud all over her legs. I just bathed her in normal lukewarm water. Now she is shivering. Before she usually shivered a little, but it stopped. She has been shivering for about 30 minutes+. I have wrapped her in blankets and been cuddling her, but she is still shivering. She is almost three years old. Otherwise, she is healthy, no fleas, ticks, ear mites, worms, etc. She is acting fine, otherwise. It started right after the bath, so I am thinking it is that. But I am still worried. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY, PLEASE NO "OMG ABUSE!" comments, those will only give mt the urge to kill you.

  1. Never give a cat a bath unless it's for fleas

they self clean and bathing removes the oils from their skin . they need it to stay healthy ( dry skin and scraggly hair without it )

keep cats in when it's really muddy or just wipe the mud off with a damp towel ( warm ) and put her on her scratching post or wherever she sits to clean , they will clean themselves before they go anywhere else (unless hungry, so maybe give a few treats at this time )

  2. Giving your cat a bath every two months is good!

    cats like to clean themselves..

your cat is probably just cold and maybe scared but nothing is wrong with her! when i give my kitten a bath i usually wrap her in a towel and then take her outside with me when its hot and very sunny that us ally drys her quick! your cat probably got some water in its nose not bad though.

  3. ask your vet or maybe warm the water up a bit, don't leave her in there too long as cats don't really like water. the vet should be able to help.

  4. the best anser i can think of is to keep on doing wat ur doing

also:use a blow drier on the cat this will make it warm and dry use it on a slow setting so it doesnt get too hot, that will just cause more problems, cats also shiver to get warm, get it out of the blankets and just blow dry it , if the cat runs away from the blow drier then dont do it, just let it dry naturally , if its a hot day let her go outside in the sun......

    this is all true

can u allow me to get the 10 pts(im not trying to be selfish)

    i hope this helps

  5. i bath my cat every saturday maybe a little water got in her nose. not to worry she'll be fine. just make sure u dry her as best you can and let the rest of her just air dry. my cat will shiver as long as I'm holding her its there way of trying to stay warm
