Please help, i have writers block!!!!?

Question

I would like to write a book for kids, and get published. An image has popped into my mind about a faerie- a dark, gothic faerie- who has been orphaned and sent to live with her aunt, but runs away to a dark wood. I have writers block- what comes next? And what should her and her aunts name be? Please, please don't steal my ideas but just maybe suggest some of your own?

The best thing for writers block is to not tell anyone what you're writing about because once you do that the whole point of writing the story goes. I love to do creative writing but if I tell people what the writings about the desire to write it goes.

Try watching a movie, or listening to some classical music, or writing down anything that comes into your mind. Go for a walk or read part of one of your favorite books.

do you really want to write a book for kids about a gothic fairy who runs away to the dark woods ?? sounds like a horror to me and what about to a child... what sort of age group were you thiniing about because that is totally inappropriate for age 7-.

Ok now to help you, it sounds alot like little red riding hood, yes the build up is different, but so far it has resulted in the same thing, maybe she could get kidnapped, but then she finds that she prefers life on the run from the authorities, then at the end she could get the oppurtunity to go back to her aunts, but decides to stay with her new lover and they go trundling off in their horse drawn kart into the night.

Just start writing...not worrying about spelling, grammar, or even names.  This is what I call my students' first "sloppy copy."  It can free up your creativity, and then you can go back several times to rewrite.  Good luck.

Thats a really good site for names- you get names and meanings of the names.

Book sounds pretty interesting. Do she have any enemies? maybe somebody could be after her or something, some sort of rival.

Maybe her aunt could be kidnapped

or she meets somebody with some sort of interesting disposition

You can't write a book just to get it published, but rather write because it's your passion.

So, you have this idea in mind. Try writing it out in Word or on paper. If that doesn't work, try beginning the story in a different way.

Alls I can say is that you have to try to write out this idea. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

And, as for the names... that's something that you have to do as a writer. You can't ask just anybody for a first name, because they don't know the character as personally as you do.

All of this is up to you - it's what a writer does.

she's tempted by something evil and must choose between good and evil. her aunt's name should be aunt mel, or something kinda old fashioned like that.
