I have 4, 6 week old kittens, their mom died when they were 2 weeks old and I have been taking care of them, well I have 3 really big ones and 1 runt (but he is growing fast), well when they play or lay down to sleep my runt wont sleep with the others or really play with the others. I don't know if it is cause they wont let him or he just don't want to. I try to put them all together but he just leaves and goes lay by himself about 5 min later. Is there something wrong with him or do they just not like him??? He will play with them a little while then he goes off by himself again, it makes me sad. Whats going on????

  1. i would guess they have rejected him. at this age he needs to practice fighting, self defense, hunting, etc. he cant keep up.

as soon as he eats solid food, feed him meat. beef  poultry or pork. cooked, no seasonings. he will grow faster then them and catch up.

  2. It looks like the runt simply doesn't trust them enough to play with them etc. There is nothing wrong, all cats are different, but in a month or two they'll start to get along very well.

I'ts really kind of you to be taking care of those orpans, good luck!

  3. have his be close to you. sometimes runts are less likely to be around the others until they get a little older.

  4. i had a kitten that did that with his brothers and sisters. A female cat can have a litter of kittens with different fathers (in the same littler). Maybe your one kitten had a farel father that wasnt social and it was passed on to his baby. my anti socail kitten had a farel main coon father and he never wanted to be around the litter as a baby. Another this is maybe hes not in the best of health and doesnt feel well enough to play. Does he play with  you? hopefully he will come around when he gets bigger but it might take awhile.

  5. I had a runt.  Her name was Jade.  She didn't make it though.  But I think that was my fault.  She didn't socialize too well with her siblings either.  She also couldn't quite grasp the concept that the food stayed in one place at each meal.  So sad.  Well anyway I'm sure that if they are around each other through the rest of their growing up then your kitty will grow out of it.  Also sometimes male kittens tend to be a little more antisocial then females when mom isn't around.  Just be extra loving to him.  He'll be fine.

  6. other kittens in the same litter typically will reject the runt.  one thing you can try to do is use a hypoallergenic and nontoxic perfume or other scent that you can put on the scruff of their neck...so they cant l**k it off. if they all have the same scent cats are more likely to accept each other.  worst comes to worst just spend as much time as possible with him and it should straighten out when they get a little older/

  7. keep him close to you and play with him alot

  8. How can anyone on the internet know this answer?  How about taking these kittens to the vet to be checked out?  Have you been feeding them a milk replacer from the vet?  And what did the mother die of?  If it was some sort of illness or disease these kittens most likely have it as well.
