Please help! Ads by AdzGalore still on my computer?

Question

Lately I've been having trouble with my laptop, and after doing a few searches, I now know I have AdzGalore. I ran XoftSpySE and it said that it had removed the infected files. I also ran Norton AntiVirus and deleted some other viruses and such that it picked up. I did this all with System Restore off, if that helps. I also used CCleaner to remove extra stuff off my computer. I ran Norton and XoftSpySE again, and it said no detections were found. But I still keep getting these annoying popups from AdzGalore.

Can anyone tell me why I still have it, and tell me how to get rid of it?

PS: I've also tried using Ewido online scan, but for some reason the page doesn't load up. Anything on this as well?

While the links and software the other two responses recommended are nice and all, I don't think they'll help you get to the root of your problem.

You need a good adware/spyware search and removal program. The two best I've found are Spybot Search and Destroy, and Lavasoft's Ad-Aware. Below are the links for each of these.

They're both good programs to have and I can't really say one is better than the other. I hope this helps you solve your problem!

if that doesnt work uninstall any programs that you downloaded over the interenet that aren't from a well known site (like itunes or aim or such is a good virus free ones but like I93-Gamez or such isnt)

run cc cleaner after you unistalled any

then any virus scanner you have

then restart

if that all doesnt work then trash your computer its not worth it.. or just live with it

but if it does use firefox 3 as your internet browser and don't download lots of free programs from the internet
