Hi everyone. I recently bought a car out of state. The guy seemed like a very good guy so I took his word for the car. I bought it on Autotrader. I never looked at the car personally but I told him to put "Car is running good and good condition" on the contract. When the car arrived it looked awesome but come to find out the airconditioning was leaking, car died (battery problem) and the main problem.. the car oil was leaking from the Transmission. A new transmission is needed and costs $3600!! What can I do here? We did sign a contract he stated the car was in good condition and running good, but he also put No Warranty as is. The car died the first day!! and the Oil is still leaking. I spent so much money on this car and cannot affort another $4,000 for all repairs. Please help. Thank you

  1. Not the greatest idea when buying a car, I must say. But, I thiink you should talk to your solicitor and see what they say and see if there is any grounds for getting your money back or anything like that!

  2. Well aren't you a divvy.

Who buys a car without looking at it first!

  3. You bought a used car without looking at it first, and now you are complaining about the condition of it. One person's definition of "good condition" is different than another's. Used cars are sold "as -is" with no warranty. You have 2 choices: fix and drive, or try to unload it on someone else. Maybe you'll get lucky and find someone who will buy it sight unseen?
