Please help!! Color for bedroom?

Question

My love just told me we are picking out a color for our new place 2nite ! I am to pick out the bedroom color, but don't know where to start.

We have bamboo flooring, and dark wood funiture. I'd like a color that is relaxing. Any ideas would be appreciated!

By the way, the trim will be white.

With the bamboo wood thing, the first thing that came to mind was a shade of green.

Ok i would personally go with a nice minty green or a soft brown perhaps. But if thats not your style you can go to home depot.com or sherwin williams or kelly moore and they can help you to choose the right color to accomodate the colors of the floor and trim and ceiling.

the first color that came to mind was a very light beige/tan. then just choose an accent color thats bold. like: green,red,blue, or any other bold color you might like.

that way that one bold color will bring out the room color and also the bamboo flooring and dark wood

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. I think a gold like "bosc pear" (# 6390) would be nice & warm in the bedroom.

if you want a relaxing room, the wall you bed is on should be deep red, and the rest of them a light cream, thats my idea for a relaxing and also romantic room :) hope this helps!

Oh I think like a really really light brown or gold.

i just painted my room..i've got dark wood furniture, i painted my room the color "milk chocolate"..its a  very calming shade..i thought at first it would make my room dark, but its not..it works well together...i got mine at home depot..its Behr paint

for dark furniture and white trim, a nice dark red would be good.

When picking out a color for a bedroom you have to be careful, color can affect mood and you don't want anything that increases anger or restlessness.  With what you already have I would go for something in a neutral tone, browns or tans.  You can also do many things as far as decorating with a neutral color.  If you want color it really depends on what kind of a feel you want in the room.  EXAMPLES: Deep reds or maroons will give a sense of sexiness, but may be too dark if you have a smaller bedroom and can cause anxiety in some people.  Please see the link for more information on picking the right color for your bedroom.

oh you ruined it with the white trim, i have 3 moca colored walls and one accent wall that is HOTTTTTTTTTT pink really bright but it makes it fun when the rest of it is relaxing
