Please help!!!! Do you know how to convert 470 cm width 1000 cm length into square meters!!?

We are doing the garden and don't know how to do it, iv'e looked for a convertion calculator on theinternet, but can't find one.

STEP1.  covert cm to meters by dividing with 100.'

              470 cm =4.7m

              1000cm=10m

STEP 2.multiply length and width To get sq. m.   i.e

             4.7x10   =47sq . m

THE ANSWER IS 47 SQUARE METERS

so 470cm x 1000cm = 470000cm squared

or 47m squared

There are 100cm in a metre, so you have 4.7m x 10m.  Now just times the two together to get 47m2.

You won't find a conversion on the internet because you can't turn a value of length into an area without another dimension, which conversion calculators don't ever allow for.  You will only find one that will convert each length from cm into metres, then you have to do the rest!
