Or RAM Axial 17 piece set which is marked down from $329 to $229 and 25% off so I get it for around $172.

  1. Golden Bear 14 piece set

  2. You asked this same question earlier about RAM and how you couldn't find anything online about RAM products.

Thats because their market presence in the U.S. is NIL.

RAM is a dying breed.  They were a product under Tommy Armour.

RAM does maintain a presence overseas, particular the UK market..

  3. start with a good set like Callaway's so that you get used to hitting a good set and you wont have to change sets so quickly

  4. I'm going to go on the assumption that you want a new set in one package instead of piece-mealing one together by buying used items from Craigslist or eBay.

If so, I started with these "starter packages" when I started golf (RAM, Top-Flite, Cougar, Dunlop, Wilson (not the Staff). Are you certain you'll be sticking to golf or are you trying it out for the first time. I've seen friends buy nice to-do sets then give up after a few months. If you want to go with a bare basics set just in case you don't stick for the long-haul, then check out the sales at your local sports stores where sometimes you can get brand new sets from low-tier companies such as Wilson, Cougar, Affinity, John  Daly by Hippo, Knight for $100-$150.

The Golden Bear clubs are a solid set, some of my classmates from my beginner golf class had those and they hit them pretty solid.

I currently use the Top-Flite HCT Tour set which was the previous generation of that XL set you are looking at. For the price it's a nice set. The irons I actually still use after upgrading the rest once I got better. The putter and bag are nice, the driver and woods are so-so but good for the price, come down to approx. $13 for the 15-piece set. The positive is that since Top-Fite is owned by Callaway, if your clubs break or straps on the bag snap-off, they have great customer service to replace them for you.

  5. The one with the turtle picture on it.

  6. you want to go with a decent set not the most expiencive but ones that are of some quality. if you have a cheap set chances are that the quality is not going to be advanced enough for your level... even if you are a beginner. i would recommend getting a older set of ping or titlest or callaway they are going to be more expeince but they are going to benifit you in the long run and you will be able get more out of them...

  7. You want to go with a very forgiving set. what i mean by forgiving is the club head is usually big witch gives more room for error. you also dont want to spen too much and get stuck with a set that dosent fit your skill level. Saint Andrews makes very good set for a reasonable price. Have fun out there.

  8. The RAMs are fine clubs and good for beginners.  You don't really need the irons and woods to match.  Some beginners hit irons better and would be better off not even having woods, while others hit the woods better and get 7 and 9 woods to go with the usual 1, 3 and 5.

You can check out Rockbottom Golf for other deals:

    http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/index.html

They don't have such great deals on complete sets now, but their stock changes every week and they have some really good deals on iron sets and wood sets, including an Adams iron set (4 - lob wedge) for $149 and an Adams wood set for the same price and a Wilson Deep Red wood set for $99.

Adams are very forgiving clubs, so they're good for the beginner.  But the Rams are fine if that's the right budget for you.

  9. I recommend the Top Flites (made by the same company as Callaway by the way!), I have a set which are very good, and they are a good price.

The bags are also very comfortable, even after 36 holes.

  10. you can go with wilson they have a set on sale. go to www.tgw.com

    hope this helps.
