It's a wooden chest of drawers painted white.

I've spilt water on it without realising and now the paint has become chipped in sort of lines

How do I fix this?

  1. No appropriate paint ought to have become damaged with a bit of water' however, it is a light or as necessary rub down and repaint.  Try using Dulux Satinwood or Sikkens Satura for harder wearing mid-gloss finishes.  Learn to apply several coats very thinly with a 4 inch foam roller, rather than one or two coats thickly applied.

  2. If possible, and as a first resort, sand area down with fine sand paper adn then paint over with white undercoat/ primer as it is not too thick. Then, when dried, sand rest of chest and regloss the lot. You can buy liquid paint remover, but it's a long and tedious task. Far better to do a repair job.
