It's only helpful if you're consistently good at spelling. You type the first few letters of a word you want to say, then options will pop up to complete the word. scroll around and hit the ok/select button on your phone and the word is completed for you. Helps for long words. Also most T9 dictionaries rely on words most commonly typed (meanning if you say hello a lot, hello will almost imediately pop up as first option if you just type "h", hence how people can text so fast nowdays.

ok its really complicated but once you know how to do it it gets easier.

so, say you want to say hello to somebody. you would hit the buttons 4-3-5-5-6. because the h is on the 4 the e is on the 3 the l's are on the 5 and the o is on the six.

so basically you press the number that has the letter that you want and the word comes up.

if you do that and a different word comes up you can press zero and it will change the word (it could be pound, or up and down depending on your phone)

for example if i wanted to say win (random word) i would hit 9-4-6 but the word who comes up, so i hit the zero button until i see the word win

very simple, dont listen to her, i use it all the time. say you wanted to write hello. you would hit 4 for the H, 3 for the e, 5 twice for 2 l's, and 6 for the o. if the word you want isnt written, hit up and down and it will show you other matching words for the numbers you pressed.
