Lisr all the things which happen to a starch molevule from the time it enters the mouth in a peice of bread until it finally leaves the body in the form of C02 and H20. Make sure you mention all the structures it must pass through and any enzymes involved in its tranformation.

  2. First, when you chew the biscuit, your saliva is actually digesting it in the mouth. The enzyme that digests polysacchirides and disacchirides into smaller polysacchirides is the salivary amylase, found in your saliva.

    Then these polysacchirides are next digested in the small intestine(lumen/inner), and not in the stomach. WIth the help of pancreatic amylase, it breaks down to maltose and other disacchirides.

    And in the epitherlium part in the small intestine(in the membrane), the disacchirides are broken down to monosacchirides. And then the bloodstream absorbs these.

    The one which are not digested go to the large intestine, so that H2O and other minerals and nutrients are all abosrbed, and comes out in our body as f***s.
