I'm now almost 20 weeks pregnant and this is my first pregnancy. I woke up last night with really bad cramping that only lasts a few seconds. This morning I had these cramps about every hour. Its so sore that I can't even breath. It actually feels like having really bad gas. Its just in front under my navel (or that whole area). Do you think I'm worrying to much about this or should I go to the doctor? Please help!

  1. If your entire belly gets hard, and they are in your lower abdomen, or lower back, then it is a contraction. If they are regular for two hours or more, and do not get better with rest, then I would call the doc to be sure. Braxton hicks are not real regular and ease with rest.  I am sure you are fine though. I would not worry too much. Good luck, and congrats from a mother of five

  2. Chances are its just your body stretching....At 20 wks the baby is growing fast and you will def. feel your body changing...

Make sure you use lots of lotion on your abdomen to help the stretch marks...and exercise...

I would make sure you mention this to your dr....Mabee call the nurse line tomorrow...They may want to see you on Tues. If you have any spotting or they are more regular call immediately

You will know when you have your first braxton hicks.....I had them the last month and half of my last preg.....Im not even going to describe them but you will know what they are when you have them...

Oh...and based on the time of your question..The insomnia is normal...make sure you get some extra naps in when you can...LOL

Edit**So glad you have some answers....Make sure you drink lots of water and try to stay as dry as you can ( I had to change my undies oftern and power can be your life saver!!...Glad to hear no contractions and the baby is well!!!
