Please help? Is this true?

Question

is it true that you need to get shots before entering 6th grade? i am going into 6th grade this fall and i was just talking to my friend on aim. she asked me if i got them and i said no. she said that there are 2 shots you need to get or you can't enter 6th grade...

i knew nothing about it.

do you know if it's true?

You need your tetanus booster and meningoccacal along with HPV if you are a girl at 11-12 years of age.

I think it depends on the school and the state. I know that I had to have all my hep B shots done before I went to middle school. Thats three shots though. I also had to have other shots done for high school. You would want to call the school or the school district to find out if you need certain shots. You will have to turn in an immunization record no matter what though.

I think perhaps she didn't have all her shots as a baby and they found out.  I have never heard of anyone getting shots before entering 6th grade.  However, now they have shot for pneumonia and she may have already gotten her flu shot.  They are doing them early this year.  So if anything, those are the two she's talking about.  Ask you parents to find out for you.

im in 8th grade but i needed them for 5th grade not 6th and my friend who went into 6th grade said that she got them when she went into 5th.

Call your school corporation office and ask.  If it's like our school, if you hadn't gotten the shots, the county nurse came into the school and gave us the shots.  Now they'd have to have parental consent, I'm sure, but back then, it was just "Oh, hey, you haven't had this shot, here you go!"
