Please help!! Moms....?

Question

i really enjoy babysitting younger children because they are just so cute! I am 15 and babysitting certified. also Infant/child cpr certified and a junior life guard. And i have good references. In my state you cant your permit till 16 and i am handing out flyers only in my neighborhood so it is close by.Is there anything that would make me more appealing to mom's with young children?

maybe go to the park and playground and play with the kids so moms and dads can see how you handle the children and yourself.

You seem to be very qualified but I will have to agree that most parents prefer an older babysitter for their newborn or infant.  I think that for now you should just concentrate on babysitting children that are a bit older and later when you're a little older, say 16 or 17 you can try and find parents with infants that are looking for a babysitter.  Another thing you might want to try is advertising in another community near by you.  It just maybe there are too many babysitters in your area and I'm sure most parents don't mind driving for 5-10 minutes to pick up and drop off their child's babysitter.

I love that you took the time to get yourself trained and certified.  How responsible of you!  I would say, just emphasize your training and experience and stress how much you enjoy interacting with the little ones.  Most moms find it very important for their babies to be stimulated as much as possible.  I'm not using a babysitter but if I was I would certainly prefer a person who enjoyed interacting with my daughter versus someone who was just looking for a paycheck and wanted to ignore her while she did her own thing.

If you babysat for me, there would be two things that would determine whether or not I asked you back:

1.  My kids loved you

2.  You were responsible

When I babysat (many, many years ago) I would clean the house after the kids went to bed.  If we played games or made any mess, I cleaned it all up.  I did the dishes.  The parents really appreciated the extra help and usually gave me a little extra cash to say thanks!  Also, I really played with the kids.  Colored with them, sang to them, made up little games.  They always asked for me.  When I find a babysitter like this, I keep her around as long as possible!

Being older. Very few people want to leave babies and toddlers with young teens. When you meet with parents try your best to act very mature.

Keep up the good work with the certificates. Wait tell you are of legal age .

Your age is a problem. i would not leave my infant with a teenager, no matter there reference quality or experience level
