Please help! My bunny gave birth last night but she has killed 3 off them. I've removed the dead one's but not sure if she has more in her nest. Would it be ok to have a look? I'm scared if i look she may kill the others. She is coming out of her nest but acting strange? Please help as i'm not sure what to do ....

  1. You should definitely remove the kittens and take them in a warm carrier to the vet, as they will know what to do. It is fine to have a look at her nest- you should rescue the rest of her litter immediately.

    Good luck x

  2. first of all did you see the bunnny kill them?

i would not cheeck to scary!!!!!!!!!but you might be diffrent, if you are curious cheeck!

  3. First, be sure she KILLED the babies, not that they died because of birth complications and such. If it is evident that she killed them, get the others out of there as soon as possible and take them to the vet so they can tell you what to do. You may need to bottle feed the babies. If the mother is acting funny, you may want to just call the vet and ask his advice before removing the bunnies.

    Bottom line, call the vet.

  4. make sure that she killed them but by the way you say she is acting i would say she has..you can go in a check but make sure that you pet her first to get her sent on you!!! this is very important because if you don't she will kill them..but it could very well be that she is not a good mother..some rabbits are like that i have a friend that breeds rabbits and i have heard her tell me this plenty of times..if they were found dead all in tact they probaly crawled out of the nest and got cold and dies usally if a mother kills them they will rip them apart and sometimes eat them so you should be able to tell, another thing you can do if you have another rabbit that has babies take the little ones out from the mother that your worried about and take the babies and rub them all over the other mother so they have her sent on them and she should take them...most times this works sometimes it doesn't..you can hand feed them but you have to be avaliable to feed them when they need to be fed..hope this helps..
