Question:

Please help! My laptop/screen is not working! (Has my screen burnt out)?

My laptop was fine yesterday night, but when I flipped the top up this morning the screen was black and would not respond at all. I shut down and restarted it many times now, even removing the battery and putting it back in. Still, after the black screen with the loading bar on the bottom finishes, the screen fades into black where it would usually load onto the sign-in to user page. I still hear the start-up tune in the back though, but the screen is DEAD. Pressing things on the keyboard/dock also don't work at this point, but strangely when I use the 'Safe mode' to open windows, the screen works and I can see my desktop but I can't use many of the applications on safe mode.

How can I fix this problem and use my laptop normally??

--I would really appreciate help!

  1. 1. Try to do a system restore. When in safe mode you are usually prompted if you want to do a system restore. If not then in safe mode, go to Start> All programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Restore. Reboot in normal mode.

    2. If you have the same problem, have your laptop checked by a technician for connection problem.
