Please help!! My treo 650 does not stop turning on and off.?

I was using my phone earlier today and as I was erasing my text messages, the phone automatically shut off on it's own. I tried to turn it back on and I even took out the battery and put it back in and as soon as I did that the phone turned on but it kept turning on and off continuously. I can't get it to stop turning on and off on its own. What do I need to do?

if you have a data plan, you may have some type of program running in the background.

And updating your phones firmware will fix it as well
