I don't understand this whole RH factor thing. But, Say you had a miscarriage... Daddy is RH + and mommy is RH -. If mommy didn't get the shot that you're supposed to get, would that prevent her from getting pregnant later on?

  1. No it will not prevent you from getting pregnant. However as soon as you become pregnant you should see your OB. They usually give you the shot at 28 weeks and again after the birth. The first is to protect Mom and Baby and the second is to protect Mom. I have had this shot many times. Good luck!

  2. I don't think so. My baby almost miscarried the morning after I found out because I'm negative and the father's positive... However, my manager (female, of course) made me leave work to go to the er. Once I got the shot everything was fine. Just make sure you get it like the next day and I'd think you and baby would be fine. Good luck!

  3. Its to late for the shot now, but it wont prevent you from getting pregnant.  You will get one at 28 weeks along, and maybe one at birth.  I had two m/c's and got the shot both times, and I asked about what would happen if I did not get it.  Long story short it wont stop you from getting pregnant.  When you do become pregnant the OB will do blood tests and everything.  If your worried tell him/her about not getting the shot after your m/c.

  4. If you are RH- (like me) then you are supposed to have the shot if you have bleeding during pregnancy, a miscarriage, an abortion, and/or labor.

It will not prevent you from getting pregnant again in the slightest. However, if I were you, I would get my blood checked for antibodies before I started trying again. That way, you will know if any RH+ blood entered into your system. If antibodies ARE present, then your doctor will know to monitor your pregnancy closely, and to take precautions so that you and baby are both healthy.
