A little while ago, I connected to the internet using Mozilla Firefox. I was waiting for my home page to finish loading when a black page (covered my whole screen) with a horrid picture of a female face popped up! Gave me a heart attack! On the screen, I read that I didn't have spy ware installed and my computer had been captured. At the bottom of the page was someones email address from hotmail. I didn't click on the address. I just clicked out of it the black page.

Does anyone know what this is about? Have you gotten a page like what I described before? How did it get there? Will it damage your computer? I googled Prospy and read about "key logging" but I really don't understand it. Is this an ad to make you purchase antispyware?

Please help me. I am concerned since my computer has been acting weird lately.

Thank you. I am most appreciative. :-)

Oh! Just thought of something. If that screen popped up, then I guess my computer got captured. *sighh* ;-)

love ya

  1. Have your antivirus scan your computer.

If you have no antivirus, go to www.avast.com and get the free home version.

Then go to www.microsoft.com and get Windows Defender (antispyware, free).

A keylogger is a program the actually logs each keystroke that you type. It is a nasty thing.

  2. whats your anti virus...

  3. Hi RAndi!

    Good to see you here!

I have a "Key-Logger" in my quarantine.  they monitor everywhere you go on the computer.  very high risk.  get it into a quarantine as soon as possible.  then contact your security company about deleting it.

    **** luck...hugs
