  1. Just type my name in Google as A.Ganapathy India .You will find hundreds of answers about earthquakes and Tsunami. I am the one issued the warning 2 hours before Tsunami struck our coast. It is possible to alert before Tsunami struck our coast if we observe the situation properly. I have also issued denial report on several other occasions. Nothing was possible by prediction. It was all possible because of my close observation only. The scientists from the world are appreciating among few persons of course criticize me.

  2. To add to the previous answer, look up "tsunami hazard".

Most tsunamis occur as a result of earthquakes of sufficient

    magnitude that

vertically displace the sea floor  and occur in relatively

    shallow water.

Tsunamis travel thousands of miles across the ocean

so you don't have to be near a tectonic fault to be affected

    by tsunamis.

On the bright side, for you, Victoria seems to be relatively

sheltered. It's the folks on the Pacific side of Oz who have

    to worry.

  3. Look up 'Tsunami' on Google - you'll find lots of information sites there - including the 2007 Tsumani of India ... as for worrying about it ... well you can worry as much as you like but if the conditions are right for it to happen then it will - and there's nothing anyone can do about it .... however better building structures (unlike the ones in India) will help to withstand the force of a Tsunami and so help to protect the occupants ... the other and most extreme alternative is to move to an area of the world where the likelihood of a Tsunami happening is almost nil .... however, depending on the earths tektonic plates - a Tsunami could perceivably happen anywhere in the world .... it's just the probability is more is certain areas .....
