Please help? What do i wear on a golf course

Question

Can someone please help me. I'm going to a golf day with a group of friends at a posh club however have never been on a course in my life. I have left this totally to the last minute and am desperate for help.

I have got a pair of suit trousers and a dodgy pink polo top. Is this enough? Also do i have to tuck in the polo shirt because to me this looks ridiculous?

Plus fours, pringle sweater, flat cap, golf shoes, in the most ridiculous colours you can find, clashing if possible.

as long as you dont wear or jeans but the polo shirt other than pink and no  you dont have to tuck it in  someone should have checked about the dress code for playing a round of golf i essume you are playing a round of golf if you just going for a drink then it dont matter good luck

Suit trousers would be acceptable but I wouldn't advise wearing them as you might ruin them, especially if it's a bit muddy. Chinos are better. Polo top is fine - whatever colour - but yes, it shold be tucked in. I know, I don't like it either. Oh, and take a change of clothes to wear in the bar afterwards.

The most important thing is golf shoes - try to borrow some, you won't be able to play without them.

Smart casual trousers and shirt and a pair of golf shoes. Depending upon the state of the weather you may need a sweater and smart waterproofs.

A polo and some pants that aren't jeans and clean shoes. Ask your friends if they are tucking their shirts in, if they are then i guess you should to, unless you want to stand out.

you wouldn,t get out of the car park in my golf club if your shirt was not tucked in also must have a collar, shorts just above knee,no advertising logos ,shoes to change to enter the club house no cap or visor in the club house,do you want more.....

Depending on the club you'll need to wear either tailored (not sports) shorts or trousers (not jeans) and a collared polo shirt (tucked in I'm afraid). Some clubs are very snooty but it is getting better. Probably most importantly you'll need golf shoes not trainers.

you just need to wear nice kakai pants and a polo shirt. you dont need to wear suit pants or tuck in your shirt (unless its really baggy)
