  1. You could make it kind of like Risk, where two players roll dice, and the higher number wins the battle.  The lower number loses one of their soldiers.

  2. Have the game about players selling T-shirts outside the monument.

  3. I really need more details. If it's for two players you can easily whip up a wargame where one player controls the Mexican army and the other controls the out-numbered and out-gunned Texas militia. If it's multi-player though that will be harder to work out.

If you're allowed to make it a trivia game you can make up cards about the history of the Alamo and the people present. The winner can be determined by who answers x questions first.

If it needs to be a traditional American style board game, I suppose you could figure out important locations associated with the Alamo and require the players to do something (roll a number on the dice, answer a trivia question, act out part of the event) at each of them. Include penalties (losing turns, being forced to a previous station) to extend the duration of the game and make it less certain who will win in the end.

Once you get an idea of what it is you really want to do, ask for more help with the rules at the Board Game Designer's Forum.

  4. If its for a class in school then use the best tactic you can. Make a game where you have to figure out a way to end it peacably with no bloodshed. Your teacher will love it.
